Research into landscape Architecture

In this part of the project, I will be looking at gardens, mazes and plant life in relation to landscape architecture and how it adds to the overall beauty and essence of the building.

The Garden:

For the overall essence of the garden, I would want a feeling of order, symmetry, geometry and a mix of colors. These would add to the ethos of the museum and its entire design.

Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte Garden and maze

The Maze:

The Labyrinth would not be too complex, it will be hexagonal in shape and its hedging would be Leyland Cypress (green in color) and Red Robin (red in color).

The mix match of color is part of the design process.

Maze examples:

The plant life:

The plant life should give a variety of color and beauty, to create the mood of relaxation and warmth.

Plant life include -

  • Lavender
  • Allium
  • Salvias
  • Creeping Phlox
  • Hydrangea
  • Daylily
  • Marigold
